Granting Permissions to Roles, without using Permission Sets

Default data model

Up to VG 2017, permissions were organized with the following hierarchy:

For the most complex requirements, VG allows creating multiple levels of permissions sets, that inherit from each others.

Simplified data model

Although very powerful and flexible, this organization may become heavy for simple needs.

Therefore, VG 2018 introduces an optional simplification:

• Permission sets are no longer mandatory.
• If needed, you can directly grant permissions to Roles.
