FIPS 140-2 is issued by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST).
It defines requirements and standards to protect the cryptography modules used by federal agencies and departments. The protection of such modules is necessary to maintain the confidentiality and integrity of sensitive and classified information.
When securing your applications with Visual Guard, the information related to user accounts, access rights, audit trails, etc. is protected by FIPS compliant features - in particular Triple DES and AES algorithms.
This includes communications between client applications and Visual Guard Repositories, as well as data stored in Visual Guard Repositories.
You can enable the FIPS compliance mode by connecting to Visual Guard and accessing the Encryption settings. Do not hesitate to contact the Visual Guard support team for assistance if needed.
